Get Glowing Skin (In Under 1 Week!)

Love Your Skin Beautiful by Ashley Steinmann | How to get glowing skin

Ever have one of those days where your skin seems to be dull and flakey with a very “cakey” makeup look? When my skin is breaking out, dull, or in a total rut, this is my go-to pick-me-up routine! Follow this easy regime for a few days, and I am convinced that you will uncover a healthier, dewy glow in a week or less (of course everyone is different, so this definitely isn’t a claim, but I’ve seen it on myself, my family and friends, and it sure does turn things around for our various skin types!).

My “Get Back The Glow” Skin Care Routine:

1. Exfoliate in the morning with a very fine, non-abrasive scrub. When you sleep, your skin builds up dead skin cells that have been turning over as your skin regenerates itself while you sleep. These dead skin cells can make your skin appear dull (especially under makeup), so it’s important to knock em’ out with a gentle scrub (I say gentle because red, rashy skin ain’t pretty!). My pick is what I call my skin care splurge, SkinCeuticals Micro Exfoliating Scrub.

2. Swap your current moisturizer for 100% all natural grapeseed oil. With polypeptides that stimulate collagen, as well as natural astringent properties, grapeseed oil is the perfect choice for almost all types of skin, especially those prone to cystic acne. I had a huge underground pimple forming on my forehead one night, and put grapeseed oil over my face before bed. In the morning, the pimple (as well as other little clogged pores) had gone down by 75%, and as I continued to use it the following week, the underground pimple had disappeared without ever showing itself. It can be hard to find completely pure grapeseed oil, but I found some that I use and love each night HERE.

3. Try BareMinerals natural makeup. I’ve talked about it before on my blog, but my go-to daily makeup is BareMinerals Original in Medium Beige. BareMinerals contains no chemicals or parabens, and allows your skin to breath and glow from the inside out. Some people say this doesn’t cover as well as some liquid foundations, and for some skin types this may be true. However, I have found that this makeup gives a silky finish and covers any blemish or red spot I have when I apply it with a kabuki brush (for full coverage).  HERE is the shade and type of Bare Minerals I use and HERE is the kabuki full coverage brush.

I love your beauty tips. You are absolutely stunning and seem so down to earth ( which is a huge plus ). If you have any tips for very mild roseca, I would appreciate it.

Hi Pranati! A great, pretty natural option I’ve heard about is Vitamin C serum, which has natural skin lightening properties and is extremely effective with fighting wrinkles. I have heard amazing things about it, and it has over 2000 reviews on Amazon with almost 5 stars. Here is a link to it: Insta Natural Vitamin C Serum from Amazon!
